These barrels were first used to age premium añejo tequila, crafted from 100% blue agave in the heart of Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. Unlike traditional tequila barrels that are often ex-bourbon or ex-wine, these barrels started with brand-new American oak, allowing the tequila to infuse its unique profile into the wood from scratch. The result is a rich, layered character in the barrel, bringing forward notes of vanilla, raisins, and honey, with a mildly smoky, caramel finish.
