Great to have if you need a fire bucket or some extra water. It's very compact when stored and only 28 grams in the little stuff sack. It fits in the 5th pocket of my jeans. The Cordura material is thin with no structure so you have to hang it from a branch or get creative when full. When you camp near water, but don't want to go back & forth & back & forth, this practically weightless bucket is amazing. Put it on a tree branch and you'll have water to filter for food/drink, wash hands/face, and douse a fire. Easy peasy!I've been a fan of Sea to Summit equipment for several years and last year I added the 20 lt bucket to my standard weekend backpacking gear. On an August campout however I left my bucket hanging from a tree and needed to find a replacement.I tried using a standard dry bag as a bucket for a couple weekends but then decided to get another "real" bucket. The 20 lt. had turned out to be more than I needed so I decided on a 10 lt. instead. The specs on this "Ultra-Sil" bucket showed it to be the lightest 10 liter Sea and Summit made so I ordered it. I was amazed when I opened up the mail envelope and held it for the first time. The tiny stuff-sack with the bucket inside weighs only 1 ounce and fit in the palm of my hand without any overhang. Imagine taking a large lemon and slicing off two sides to leave a center section as thick as your index finger. That is the packed size of the ultra-sil bucket only lighter! Only 1 ounce! This bucket will not free stand with water in it, however to be honest I was never able to get my 20 ltr. to do it either despite the claims on the website. Hang this bucket from a tree limb or clip it into a carabiner and it works great to hold water in camp to be used for cooking, cleaning or filtering. The ultra-sil bucket is 4 times lighter than my previous bucket and packs at least 3-4 times smaller. This has turned out to be a great replacement to my standard gear load. No regrets! This was a real "splurge" item for me since I already have platypus bags and a couple of MSR Dromedary bags too. I wanted something VERY lightweight that I could easily fill from a spring or stream, then hang at camp for washing hands and cookware as needed. The Sea to Summit folding bucket works great for this purpose, and nearly disappears in your pack - also very easy to re-stuff into its little sack. I also ended up using it to drink from by using my Sawyer Mini filter with straw.I left it hanging up ~ 24hrs through a freezing night. Some ice formed and melted again, so I thought that was a good test of the seams and waterproofing of them. Not a drop of water leaked, and I have not yet bothered to seam seal as I thought I should on first inspection. The bucket DOES NOT STAND on its own reliably, so don't expect that and disregard other reviews faulting it for this.A bucket like this is great to have on so many situations, and at such a small and light package it's a no-brained to add it on a trip. I actually pack it inside my Toaks titanium pot along with coffee and other things to be used as a sort of ultralight kitchen sink that can also haul a lot of water from distances. This product holds water but needs to be hung from something or held up to keep holding it.So small and light! Folded up it's probably slightly larger than a sliver dollar with a fraction of the weight. Perfect accessory for the backcountry. Especially if you plan on starting a fire and need a water source nearby for safety. It's so sheer that you wouldn't think it would be strong enough to be worth anything, but it is. Just so handy to have. Totally worth it.I was dubious when this arrived, as it looked flimsy and inefficient. So, my first instinct was to ship it back. But I decided to put it to a test. I filled it up 3/4 of the way and carried it. I couldn't believe that it didn't leak anywhere! And when I set it on the ground, I expected it to flop over and spill the water but it didn't! Awesome! I really seems durable & sturdy. And it's so light-weight! I love it!I got this for hiking on the Colorado Trail this last summer and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces of gear. Many times it is hard to collect water from a stream using a bottle or even a cup. I simply unpacked this bucket from its tiny pack and scooped up more than enough water to filter for my needs. This bucket is super tiny and lightweight. It did take a bit of practice to get to where I could pour the water out of it into the filter bottle, but collecting the water was so easy that I didn't mind spilling a bit on the ground. After filling my filter bottle I would typically hang the bucket with the remaining water on a broken tree branch until I was ready to leave the site. This is good for collecting water but you cannot stand it on the ground, only if its really really straight flat ground but any movement or wind and the whole 10 supposedly liters will be gone. It is advertised on the company's website to hang on a carabiner up somewhere. I think I may use it that way or just as a mini packable bag to collect sticks for small kindling and firewood ...der ultra sil folding bucket 10 Liter ist sehr gut zum wasserholen geeignet, oder wenn man auf reisen ist, eine sehr gute notfall Einkaufstasche, die ohne Probleme in die Hosentasche passt. vor ein paar jahren hab ich mir diese tasche schon einmal gekauft, habe sie öfter mal im Einsatz. am anfang dachte ich, die ist sehr dünn, und traute ihr nicht recht. nach ein paar jahren, ist sie immer noch wie neu, deshalb kaufte ich mir noch eine zweite. wenn man wasser damit trägt, ist wegen der gewichtsverteilung eine zweite sinnvoll. ich nutze die taschen auch als zwischenspeicher beim wasserfiltern, man kann darin gut schwebteile im wasser absinken lassen, bevor man mit dem filtern beginnt. sie tasche ist extrem dünn, leicht und sehr klein zu verpacken, es ist klar, dass man mit so einem Produkt sorgsam umgehen muss, Glasscherben sollte man darin nicht transportieren.mittlerweile greif ich öfter zu sea to summit Produkten, ist alles gut durchdacht, extrem leicht und klein und für das geringe gewicht der Produkte extrem stabil. die Entwickler von sea to summit, wissen auf jeden fall genau was sie tun. wenn man mit dem Rucksack unterwegs ist, und aufs gewicht achten muss ist sea to summit die erste Wahl, was dann auch den höheren preis rechtfertigt. ich bin von sea to summit Produkten überzeugt. macht weiter so.Die Firma stellt wirklich top Produkte her die vielleicht nicht ganz günstig sind aber hier bekommt man auf jeden Fall Qualität für sein GeldQuand on est en bivouac et que l'eau n'est pas tout près, un bon compromis. Me sert pour l'eau propre à l'endroit et de bassine à l'envers. poids plume encombrement nul, heureusement de couleur vive pour le repérer dans le sac car minuscule.
